Miracles do happen.

I wanted to share a blog I have found that I feel is worth mentioning. The blog address is Stakerzxposed.bogspot.com

If you get here, go back to the post at Feb. 1st and read from there. It is about a beautiful little boy who almost lost his life in a bath tub. The mom's post's about this experience are both powerful and truthful. I am drawn to them because of the mom's honesty and strength. I find myself learning from her positive perspective on life and tragedy. I admire her ability to share this experience so soon. There are many blog's out there I know, but this is one of them everyone might benefit from reading.

Lauren comes home today!

Lauren is on her spring break and gets to come home today for a week. We are so excited to have her for so long. She has spent a total of only 4 nights at home since last August and I know she is ready for some good 'ol fashion down time, here at home. We are planning nothing on purpose. Perfect. Definitely she has a lot of catching up to do with the DVR on the Olympics, which we have saved all of her favorite events. So many amazing stories for her to hear. Weather promises to be rainy so with that a few movies and some wet walks with Hank are in order. Not to mention baking, working out, bubble baths, yummy dinners and reading whatever she wants. Megan is excited to share their room again lol. Austin just looks forward to all the attention that he gets again from both his doting sisters!

Hank
I know I just posted a picture of Hank, but he has been so funny lately.
It's like he understands a little English now. When you talk to him he tilts his head and really focuses. He has a million expressions. So cute. He does know the words Reed, walk, dinner, breakfast, lie down, heal, sit, treat, cookie, water and night night. I'm sure I sound like we just adopted a new baby but that's about what it is like around here. Funny though he is, he is also a total pain in the ass. Every day he gets into trouble. To name just a few of his misdemeanors would include; eating 2 of Lauren's charms from her new bracelet that we just bought in Europe (she found one, you know where!), ruined 2 pairs of slippers, ate and threw up a big rock, pulls pout any new planing I do and runs around the yard shaking it like it's alive, rips my People magazine into shreds the day I get it, ate Austin's entire ham sandwich just prepared before school, mauled Reed's tiny I-pod, likes to get the clicker and make you chase him down for it, walk on his hind legs like a bear to reach things he should not be having, eats anything that is dropped on the floor in point two seconds, sneaks into anyones room if the door is open and does things he is not supposed to in there, ate Austin's retainer, chewed 2 of my reading glasses, sucks on all socks and nibbles ever so gently on you when he wants you to play. All in all he is really great. Totally trained (even rings a bell to go out) sleeps perfect, eats perfect and loves us more than anything.

Up at Crystal Mtn. with Hank!

Reed and I went up to Crystal to get Megan's things to bring down for the Olympics. We brought Hank and he met a friend, Stella, and had a blast in all the snow. He was sooo cute!

Megan is off to the 2010 OLYMPICS!

Megan leaves for the Olympics tomorrow with 7 other kids from school. She has known she would be going for a year now after the school held a lottery last year. It will take place during Winterim. Reed and I are totally jealous because we had been looking for a place to stay there and going ourselves for a couple years, ever since we went on a Presidents weekend to Whistler 2 years ago. One of the best places ever and that 5 day trip trumped some of our families 10 day trips to other places! Oh well,we know she will LOVE it. It's just funny because I don't think she really understands/gets where it is she is really going and how amazing it will be to be a part of the Games. Guess Reed and I will have to wait for another time to be a part of something like that.....and it won't be Russia. I have listed a few of the activities she will get to be a part of. So cool!
  • Men's Snowboard Cross @ Cypress Mtn.
  • Shopping/eating in Burnaby or downtown.
  • Sky-Train to downtown.
  • Ladies Speed Skating @ Richmond Olympic Oval.
  • Men's Curling @ Vancouver Olympic Centre.
  • Men's Ice Hockey @ Canada Hockey Place.
  • Shopping/eating in LiveCity Yaletown.
  • Hanging out in BC's Robson Square and the Celebration Site Ice Rink.

Big History project!

Austin and Beau had a great time putting together this big History project. They worked very hard and are expecting a great grade for this! It was about the history of Cartoons. Who knew those two were sooo creative? Awesome!

Junior Assembly!
Megan and her good friend, Mike Mayer at JA. They had a blast! This is a picture of a picture.

Megan's College Signing at CWA!

Today at CWA Megan and two other friends celebrated their commitment to playing their respected sports at the Collegiate level. They had a formal signing for the kids at school and after a few words were said, the kids and our Athletic Director, signed their certificates of commitment. It was really special and I think it was this signing that really sealed the deal for Megan and the reality of her recruitment for tennis to Hamilton and her future ahead. We are so proud of her with this accomplishment and know how incredibly hard she has worked to achieve this. Her other two friends are going to Williams (track) and St. Mary's (Soccer). Way to go!!!!
