State Championship in Yakima 2010.

Best day ever at State! Girls take second place!

I am so proud of Megan and her partner, Sara. They were amazing this year and complimented each other so well on the court. I know, as well as many other's, that these two girls are the best doubles team (1A) in the state! I will so miss going to Yakima to watch Megan next year. She has treated her family to 4 consecutive years at State, winning a 4th , 7th, 5th and now 2nd place respectively. She was Districts Champion all 4 years in a row, and made it to the Finals this senior year! Between her and Lauren, we have been blessed to get to State 7 years. Hopefully the trend will just continue with Austin now. The tennis, Gaspertettis' memories and Clarion Hotel stay's will forever be remembered as the most special way the end the school year. Cheers to Megan this year for an awesome ending to a fantastic four years of great tennis! Guess it's off to New York to begin all the college court fun now!

A very special house call

This cute gentleman came by our home last night at 9:45 to present Megan with an invitation to the 50th Tacoma Holiday Cotillion. He had the invitation and a long stemmed rose on a silver tray covered in rose petals. Super cute! Megan was definitely caught by surprise. Lucky she was not in her jammies yet!

Well, here we are. Reed and I are now down to only one child left at CWA. Today is not only Megan's very last day in high school but her last day as a student at CWA. Wow! Not that we aren't relishing the only one tuition there now, but the end of an era is here and it is sad. Not that we don't know that in addition to that tuition we are still looking at 2 college tuition's as well, but it is all different now. It is different good and it is different bad/sad. Starting tomorrow Megan will be working her internship at Pacific Grill and I know she will be loving that. Tennis practices stay the same, same time, same place, just different in that she will be driving to school to take them. If she makes it through Districts, than this is all repeated again next week. But after that, it's all over. Time to start a new regime doing other things, meeting new people and learning under unfamiliar professors. I know that Megan will thrive in her new surroundings and will eventually become a leader doing something she finds irresistible. That's just her.
I however have to find a way to adjust to my new role as a mom of one for a year (hoping Lauren returns for a bit next year). Cooking for 3, laundry for only 3, minus tiny little striped and colored footies and preparing 2 sets of care packages. But the things I will miss the most are:

Bussling around the kitchen in the mornings before school making Austin's lunch along side Megan making her peanut butter and jelly on the
whole wheat "whale" bread.

Watching the two of them drive off to school each morning in the white Audi.

Making their beds simultaneously and picking up their rooms so when they get home, all is good for a long night of homework. (I have always done this, opposite of my own up raising, because they are now so used to working in a picked up environment that it drives them nuts to have it messy). Guess I won that one!

Calling me at 5:30 asking what was for dinner on their way home. (Austin hoping for a free pass to go to Best Burgers)

Sitting down with the 4 of us each night for dinner and just talking about stuff. Laughing.

Reed and I doing tons of dishes while the two go up the stairs to study, knowing take out is always an option.

Also, I will miss going to soccer games, Megan borrowing my tennis skirts, using my hair dryer, watching DVR in my bed, baking many times a week ( for school), needing chocolate chips, giving me her grocery list, sitting in her bed with her computer on her lap, ice water, taking my shaving cream, shopping in my closet, making Austin's French toast on the weekends and just being the best helper any one could ever ask for! I could go on forever but I'm not. I just wanted to list of a few of my favorite things that I will miss after today, but I know that there are so many favorite things that I will be doing soon that I just don't know what they are yet.

What a special day this is. Time to go frost her favorite yellow cake with my special chocolate frosting that she loves. Oh....the yellow cake.... xxx-ooo

(the picture above was taken because ironically, Austin, was wearing the exact same orange Nike shirt today (Megan's last day of HS) as he did on their first day in September. Funny.

Viva las Vegas!
Wow, what a blast. My stomach hurt when we got back from all the laughing! So fun and funny. Ended up coming home up $ in a big way! I just love that place. Good food, good drinks, sun and money to be won (at the Black Jack tables) of course. 2 nights was all that we needed and that felt like we were gone a week. Blisters on my feet accompanied with lack of sleep and hang over headaches was the only reason to go home. lol Of course I missed my family too. I posted a few pictures, too many to list. Wish I had one of the four of us, sipping our Mint Julips and watching our bets in the sports bar for the Kentucky Derby! Winner went to Super Saver. Should of bet on him. Oh well. What a great time. Oh...and the pic of me getting makeup was Amelia. We hired her to come to our rooms and help us out, loved the lashes! She was awesome!

A Perfect Mother's Day

Finally, it actually felt like spring, maybe even a little bit like summer today! So perfect to do all the things I wanted to do on a lazy sunday. Reed and I finished buying flowers for the front pots which required another trip to the nursery. That would be 2 trips there in 2 day's. Lucky for me is wasn't until morning of Mother's Day that I realized I needed to get a few more. I'm pretty sure if it wasn't a special day for me, I wouldn't have had my hubby drive me out all the way back to Watsons in Puyallup. So that was fun and then Reed, Hank and I hit the dock for some much needed sunning and magazine browsing. Even Austin joined us for a bit. Hank swam and ate sticks the whole time. Then off we went hoping to eat at Ettas in Seattle and see Carole King and James Taylor. But...there was a huge accident on I-5, so after driving over an hour to get to the Tacoma dome we decided to get off and ended up eating dinner at El Gaucho. The concert was amazing and we were convinced that Carole King stole the show, she is amazing!
