Megan's Graduation.

So, these are just a few pictures before editing of Megan's Graduation. It was another amazing experience to go through. I have always felt that getting our kids through high school was so much more than just an accomplishment for both of us, it was a reward to our parenting. In that I mean carefully balancing the do's with the don'ts. Rewarding their best choices, rerouting the poor ones. Being present at the desired times and disappearing at the others. Applauding their accomplishments but gently stroking their failed efforts. It's all in the parenting, when to step forward and when to step backwards. College is different, we're out. We gave the tools and hopefully they were the right ones and the ones she will use to excel in her next 4 years. We have confidence and we will always be there, we just won't be as present this time. We are so excited for this next phase of her life. xo

Summer is really trying to get here. We have all been so patient but wait we will, a little longer. Took these pictures tonight off our deck because I felt they were the closest shots I have seen so far of our summer to come.

Oh Hank...was it really worth it?

So, this is me, sitting watching Hank recover. He is doing better and is starting to like his bone again. He did however bring in another smaller rock yesterday under my supervision, so I'm sure we have a long way to go at correcting this unfortunate behavior. Blah.

Mama said what ??????????

Mama said there'd be day's like this! Really? Did she know Labs eat everything? Did she know they swallow big rocks and eat jewelry? Did she know that they like to go to the bathroom with her? What about the wake up at 7 am EVERY morning? Did she know they shed more hair than they actually grow? Was she aware that that dog hair actually flies through the air and can land on stools 4 feet high and tables taller than that? Did she have any idea how much energy they had and that there is absolutely no way to really tire out a puppy? Never. Did anyone tell her a bag of dog food costs $56.00 and it is now made of venison and sweet potato and lasts just a month. Oh...and if you want to save $ sure you can....just be prepared to endure the gas that accompanies the cheaper food. Did Mama know that even the KONG toys last just a few minutes and end up in red plastic chunks usually in you puppies tummy. Bully Sticks ( big $) do not last day's, they only last an hour or so, and usually stink profusely? "Smart" toy's that you spend the big bucks on, last just a few minutes, because the "smart" puppy that you ordered it for, is soooo smart, he ripped through the toy up side down. A clever way to get the food out. Forget the rules and the smart technique needed to get the reward out. So smart.

But, we just love our Hank and are so happy that he is as cute as he is! So, did Mama say there'd be day's like this? Not really, no. It's Ok though, there are and I guess we are OK with that! We love Hank unconditionally!
